DAU favours those books with literary ambitions as well as being addressed to a wide audience. In this way, this publishing house promotes books on current affairs, culture, politics and sports, as well as history, all narrated in a journalistic style.

The Republican Catalan Government, "The Spanish Civil War Chronicles"
Daily chronicle of by the Republican Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia, located in Barcelona. The text covers each and every episode of the Spanish Civil War with first hand accounts of events: the outbreak of war, the workers uprising, the creation of the Antifascist Militia Committee, the creation of the War Industries, the Front's evolution during the War, the bombings of Catalan towns, the May Events, the Battle of the Ebre, etc. It is a descriptive text, narrating events using an institutional tone, but also conveying the convulsive and revolutionary atmosphere at that time.
The troubadour. A Portrait of Josep Carreras
Through the portrait of the Catalan tenor Josep Carreras, the book gives us an insight into the world of opera and lyric. From diva's and orchestra conductor's careers to the evolution of the great opera houses of the world in the last forty years, the phenomenon of The Three Tenors together with Pavarotti and Domingo, or his serious illness.
Conversations with Xavier Sala i Martín
Xavier Sala i Martin is an economist. He did his Doctorate at Harvard University and has his chair at Columbia University. He has written several books, amongst which, the books Economic Growth (1995), co-written with Robert J. Barro.
This book is a series of interviews with a Xavier Sala i Martín, carried out by the journalist Jordi Graupera over a six month period, between Barcelona and New York. Conversations, which are both profound and yet suitable for all readers, which show us who this economist is and what he thinks on a wide variety of subjects: from football to Harvard University, from the struggle for the future of Africa to the present day in the Western World. You will also find his views on the most striking aspects of American society, the confrontation with the World Bank over the reduction of poverty or the power of Government in our societies.
